Fexofenadine (Fexaclear) 120 mg tablet: Supply issue

Supply issue New look Active

The supplier is out of stock of the currently listed Fexaclear 120 mg tablets (Pharmacode: 2698781)

Affected product

The supplier is planning to switch to a different packaging for fexofenadine (Fexaclear). We understand that the supplier and wholesalers are nearly out of stock of the currently packaged product:

  • Chemical: Fexofenadine hydrochloride
  • Presentation: Tab 120 mg
  • Brand: Fexaclear
  • Pharmacode: 2698781
  • Subsidy: $3.49
  • Measure / Qty: per 30

Alternative products

Fully and partially funded alternatives are available. For most options, a new prescription will be needed. We are sorry for the inconvenience this issue may cause.

Different active ingredient

We have been advised that cetirizine (Pharmacode: 2500728) is a suitable, fully funded alternative. Loratadine is also a suitable alternative but there is a supply issue currently affecting loratadine.

Both of these options need a new prescription.

Same active ingredient

There is ample supply of the 180 mg fexofenadine tablets (Pharmacode: 2697092). Changing to this strength would need a new prescription.

There is some supply of the partially funded 60 mg Telfast brand of fexofenadine (Pharmacode: 949841). While a new prescription may not be needed, the person will need to pay an additional cost, beyond the co-payment.

Expected resolution 1 September 2025

We are working towards listing the newly packaged fexofenadine (Fexaclear) from 1 September 2025. Unfortunately, we were alerted to this issue too late for an August 2025 listing. We will provide more details on the new packaging in due course.
