Chloramphenicol (Chlorsig) Eye drops 0.5%: Supply issue

Affected product

Supplies of chloramphenicol eye drops 0.5% (Chlorsig) (Pharmacode 335142) will be constrained until late March/ early April 2025. Shipments are regularly arriving and we are not anticipating a patient-level outage.

What is happening

We have asked the supplier to limit how much of this product it distributes to avoid stockpiling (put it on allocation). We are continuing to monitor availability. Wholesalers may also limit the stock they provide to pharmacies.
