Claiming your online learning CPD/CPE points

GPs, nurses, pharmacists and midwives can earn CME and CPD points or hours by watching any of our previous seminars online.

Pharmacists' continuing education points

The seminars count as Group 1 points. They're allocated 1 point per hour of learning activity.

Continuing medical education (CME) for GPs

Recognition of online learning – watch and receive CME credits

Time spent watching these video presentations has been approved for;

  • CME for Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP)
  • General Practice Educational Programme GPEP Years 2 & 3
  • Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS).

To claim CME credits:

  1. Watch the seminar online
  2. Fill in the learning reflection form
  3. Enter the total hours claimed as CME credits on the MOPS page under “CME reflected in PDP”.

Note: Doctors don't need to return this form to the College, but will need to retain the form should they be subject to a Medical Council audit.

Certificates for nurses

Watching Pharmac seminar videos can count towards nurses' professional development.

  1. Watch the seminar online
  2. Fill in the learning reflection form
  3. Send the learning reflection form to pharmacseminars@pharmac.govt.nz

We'll issue a certificate stating the topic and viewing hours. You can then give the certificate to your case manager for CME approval.

Certificates for midwives

Watching Pharmac seminar videos and returning a learning reflection form can count as hours towards your continuing education. 

You need to:

  1. Watch the seminar videos
  2. Fill in the learning reflection form
  3. Send the learning reflection form to pharmacseminars@pharmac.govt.nz

We’ll then issue a certificate stating the topic and viewing hours.
