2025/26 Invitation to Tender

Pharmac | Te Pātaka Whaioranga invites tenders for the supply of certain pharmaceuticals to Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora hospitals and/or to community pharmacies in New Zealand.

1 December 2025 | Amendment

Pharmac has amended the 2025/26 Invitation to Tender with the following updates:

Added: thiamine hydrochloride inj 100 mg per ml, 1 ml

Amended:

  • bupivacaine hydrochloride with adrenaline inj 0.25% with 1:400,000 of adrenaline, 20 ml non-sterile pack → bupivacaine hydrochloride with adrenaline inj 0.25% with 1:400,000 of adrenaline, 20 ml
  • bupivacaine hydrochloride with adrenaline inj 0.5% with 1:200,000 of adrenaline, 20 ml non-sterile pack → bupivacaine hydrochloride with adrenaline inj 0.5% with 1:200,000 of adrenaline, 20 ml
  • colecalciferol oral liq 188 mcg per ml (7,500 iu per ml) → colecalciferol oral liq 10 mcg per drop (400 iu per drop)
  • thiamine hydrochloride inj 100 mg per ml, 2 ml: Added the Schedule Two comment “Pharmac reserves the right to award a single tender for the whole thiamine inj 100 mg per ml market, or two separate tenders for the 1 ml and 2 ml presentations”.

Pharmac has amended the 2025/26 Invitation to Tender with the following updates:

  • Added: cetirizine hydrochloride oral liq 1 mg per ml
  • Amended:
    • midazolam inj 2.5 mg per ml, buccal syringe → midazolam inj 2.5 mg, buccal syringe
    • midazolam inj 5 mg per ml, buccal syringe → midazolam inj 5 mg, buccal syringe
    • midazolam inj 7.5 mg per ml, buccal syringe → midazolam inj 7.5 mg, buccal syringe
    • midazolam inj 10 mg per ml, buccal syringe → midazolam inj 10 mg, buccal syringe

These changes have been reflected in the In-Tend e-portal

2025/26 Invitation to tender notification

This invitation to tender incorporates the following schedules:

  • Schedule 1 sets out the definitions used in this invitation;
  • Schedule 2 specifies the pharmaceuticals for which you may submit a Tender Bid in relation to community supply and/or hospital supply;
  • Schedule 3 describes the process Pharmac intends to follow in relation to this tender, and provides instructions on how to submit a Tender Bid in relation to community supply and/or hospital supply;
  • Schedule 4 sets out terms that will apply if your Tender Bid in relation to community and/or hospital supply is awarded Principal Supply Status;
  • Schedule 5 sets out the additional special terms that will apply if your Tender Bid in relation to a particular pharmaceutical is awarded Principal Supply Status.

This invitation to tender also incorporates the information on the Electronic Portal referred to in this invitation.

If you wish to submit a Tender Bid in relation to community supply and/or hospital supply, you must submit it via the Electronic Portal to Pharmac no later than 4 pm (New Zealand time) on Monday 15 December 2025.
