Due to delays at the manufacturing plant, there is limited stock of Viatris' 1,000 mg Vaclovir tablets (Pharmacode: 2483912).

Due to an issue at Viatris' manufacturing plant, there is limited stock of the following product:

Alternative product

Where the 1000 mg tablet is not available, people can use two x 500 mg tablets. The supplier has ample stock of the 500 mg tablets.

Pharmac is working on listing alternatives of the 1,000 mg presentation.

Some stock available by end April 2026

Viatris, the supplier, expects to have some stock out to wholesalers by the end of April 2026. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around New Zealand.

A complete resupply is expected in July 2026.
