Pevaryl cream 1%: Update on funding

What's happening

Pharmac fully funded Pevaryl cream (Pharmacode: 2165953) from 1 January 2025. This change was applied to the Schedule in January. However, a computer error means that it was showing as partially funded from 1 February 2025 in Pharmac's online schedule. Some pharmacy software may also have shown as partially funded. 

Pharmacies

Please do not charge the patient surcharge for this product. It is fully funded, however, Sector Operations will not be able to fully reimburse you until March 2025 claims are processed. 

To claim the full amount, pharmacies will need to: 

• hold these claims until March 2025 OR 
• reclaim them in March 2025 (note: they will not be rejected).

Resolution

We have corrected the database and the full subsidy appeared in the Schedule from 1 March 2025. We also alerted the suppliers of pharmacy software to this issue.

Pharmac is looking into the issue to understand how this happened.
