People who take Frumil

If you take Frumil, you will need to talk to the person who prescribes it before the end of February 2026. They will be able to suggest the best alternative for your specific circumstances.

You will need a new prescription. You will need to pay for any appointment or prescription fees.

We acknowledge that it can be disruptive to have to change treatments. However, this decision was made by the supplier, not Pharmac.

People who prescribe Frumil

If you prescribe Frumil, you will need to talk to anyone taking Frumil to discuss a suitable alternative.

Please consider prescribing a funded, Medsafe-registered, alternative for affected people. Amiloride 5 mg tablets are not Medsafe registered and need to be prescribed and dispensed in line with Section 29 of the Medicines Act.
