FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors: Recall
Abbott, the supplier, has issued a recall for some batches of FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus continuous glucose monitors.
What you need to know
Abbott has recently identified that certain FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors provide incorrect low glucose readings. This is a global issue.
This issue does not affect any other Libre sensors, apps or readers available in New Zealand.
What do you need to do?
Abbott has contacted everyone who may be affected. You can check whether your CGMs are affected on a website provided by Abbott. If they are, Abbott will arrange to replace the faulty products free of charge.

Medsafe is the agency responsible for managing the safety and efficacy of medical devices in New Zealand. Abbott has aligned their actions with Medsafe.
