Rosuvastatin (all strengths): Supply issue
Viatris, the supplier, advises that there have been delays at the factory, which may lead to a limited supply of rosuvastatin tablets.

Stock of rosuvastatin is constrained and will likely be limited into January 2026.
Affected product
There has been a delay at the factory which will delay the next shipment all strengths of rosuvastatin tablets.

Viatris is managing how much of the remaining stock it sends out to ensure an equitable distribution (on allocation).
Expected resupply early 2026
Viatris expects the next shipment, of 10, 20, and 40 mg tablets will arrive at the end of December. However given closedown periods, stock is unlikely to reach pharmacies until early January 2026.
A shipment of the 5 mg is expected late January 2026. Pharmac is exploring listing an alternate brand.

We have funded an alternative product from 11 November 2025. It is approved by Medsafe. All stock has been shipped to wholesalers. Check your usual wholesaler for stock availability.

TONIQ users: the new listings will automatically be updated in Toniq medicine databases from the effective date.
ScriptSense users: the listings will be automatically updated by ScriptSense from the effective date.
Claiming
Sector Operations Group will be unable to process claims for November 2025 dispensing of the above listing.
Pharmacies can either:
- hold these claims until December 2025 OR
- reclaim them in December 2025 when they are rejected for payment in November 2025 claim.
