Rizatriptan (Rizamelt) dispersible tab 10 mg: Supply issue resolved

Due to an increase in demand and delays at the factory, there was a supply issue affecting Rizamelt tablets (Pharmacode: 2394634).

Stock has arrived with the supplier and stock is being released to wholesalers. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around New Zealand Aotearoa.

Affected product

Due to an increase in demand and delays at the factory, the supplier had a limited supply of the following product:

  • Chemical: Rizatriptan 
  • Presentation: Tab orodispersible 10 mg
  • Brand: Rizamelt
  • Pharmacode: 2394634
  • Subsidy: $4.84
  • Measure / Qty: per 30

Alternative product

Due to the short timeframe of this supply issue, we were not able to source a different brand of rizatriptan. 

Where Rizamelt is unavailable, people may want to talk to the person who prescribed their Rizamelt about whether another medicine will work for them. A new prescription will be needed.
