Information for people who use naproxen
We have funded two other brands of naproxen to ensure you can continue to access the treatment you need.
They both contain the same amount of active ingredient as Noflam and are designed to work in your body the same way.
Medsafe has reviewed both brands and approved them for use in New Zealand to support this supply issue.
Noflam 250 90-pack
The Noflam 250 90-pack comes in blister packs, rather than a bottle. The blister packs will come in a "Noflam" box with New Zealand details on it. The blister packs have "Naproxen Mylan" written on them, rather than Noflam. Samples of what the blister packs may look like are pictured.
They are the same tablets, made in the same factory as your usual Noflam naproxen. They are just packaged for sale in Europe.
Inza brand
Inza brand is made in Australia. The tablets look a little different from Noflam. Inza naproxen has different marking but are similar colour and shape to the Noflam.
- 250mg tablets: white, flat, bevel-edged tablet
- 500 mg tablets: white, capsule-shaped tablet.
Alternative brands funded
Noflam 250 / Mylan brand (250 mg only)
The Noflam 250 90-pack was listed in the Schedule from 1 April 2026. It has provisional consent from Medsafe so can be dispensed as normal. The Viatris will supply the 90 pack initially. It is short-dated. The supplier will take the stock back if it is not sold.
The supplier will not supply Inza until the Noflam 250 90-pack is not available.
The Noflam 250 comes in blister packs, with Naproxen Mylan written on them.

Pharmacists, note the pack size differences from Noflam. Both Inza strengths come in bottles.
