People who take Lanzol Relief
To make sure you can still get your treatment, we have funded Viatris brand Lansoprazole. This product is a tablet that dissolves on your tongue, rather than a capsule you swallow.
The tablets contain the same active ingredient, in the same amount as your usual brand, Lanzol Relief.
Problems taking the tablets?
If these tablets are not suitable for you, talk to your pharmacist. They may be able to change you to two x 15 mg capsules.
New prescription may be needed
You may need to get a new prescription to get funded access to this medicine.

Prescribing and supplying an unapproved medicine
Section 29A of the Medicines Act 1981 allows for medicines that are not Medsafe approved to be prescribed and supplied to people when there is supply issue affecting the registered brand.
We know supplying an unapproved medicine is not ideal. In this case, however, this will allow people to continue to access an appropriate treatment.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
