Sodium valproate (Epilim) 100 mg crushable tablet: Discontinuation
The supplier has stopped supplying Epilim 100 mg crushable tablets globally (Pharmacode: 539724).
New prescription needed by end November 2026
People who take sodium valproate Epilim 100 mg crushable tablets will need to change to a different form of sodium valproate, such as Epilim Syrup, Epilim Sugar-Free Liquid, or a non-crushable tablet.
We expect that the crushable tablets will stop being available by the end of November 2026. All other forms of sodium valproate remain funded and available.
Anyone affected by this should talk to their prescriber as soon as possible about the best alternative for them.
Even a small change like this may need careful monitoring from a health care professional. Please do not stop taking or change your treatment without talking to your prescriber.

People who cannot swallow tablets may benefit from the oral liquid.
