The supplier has limited supply of the following product due to delays at the manufacturing plant:

Alternative brand

The supplier has brought a different brand of dexamfetamine to New Zealand to ensure people can continue to access their medicine.

This has the same active ingredient in the same quantity as the Noumed brand. It will work in the body in the same way.

Inactive ingredients are slightly different

The inactive ingredients in the Aspen brand of dexamfetamine contain gluten, which may cause issues for people who are coeliac or have an intolerance to gluten products.

Pharmacies will need to consider prioritising the Noumed brand for people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance, because it does not contain gluten. Prescribers may need to consider alternatives for people with coeliac disease.
