Supplies of colestyramine may be limited from late May until September 2026.

Viatris, the supplier, advises that it has stock of Colestyramine - Mylan available and is expecting another shipment in August. Questran Light will remain funded to ensure continuity of supply.

Viatris had low stock of the following product in New Zealand from late May to September 2026.

  • Subsidy: $61.50
  • Measure / Qty: per 50

We're sorry, we appreciate that supply issues can be disruptive. Be assured Viatris and Pharmac worked hard to get stock of this product back in New Zealand as quickly as possible.

Alternative funded 1 June 2026

Pharmac funded the following alternative product, which was available from the Orspec from early June. 

Note that this alternative contains aspartame.
