Supplies of colestyramine may be limited from late May until July 2026.

Viatris has low stock of the following product in New Zealand from late May to early July 2026.

We're sorry, we appreciate that supply issues can be disruptive. Be assured Viatris and Pharmac are working hard to get stock of this product back in New Zealand as quickly as we can.

Alternative funded 1 June 2026

Pharmac has funded the following alternative product, which will be available from the Orspec from early June. 

Note that this alternative contains aspartame.

Neither is this brand nor the main funded brand, Colestyramine Mylan, are Medsafe approved.

Expected resupply 

A small amount of stock Colestyramine - Mylan is expected to be released in the first week of June. Questran Light will be available from early June.

Viatris expects a full resupply of the Mylan brand by early July 2026.
