Consultation on managing fairer access to hospital medical devices
This consultation describes what the next step in PHARMAC's approach to managing hospital medical devices could look like.
This would see DHBs, PHARMAC, suppliers and others working together in a new way to deliver fairer access to publicly funded medical devices that are purchased by DHBs for use in hospital or in the community.
This will have implications for all those who supply and use medical devices:
- health professionals
- those who decide on and support device use
- device suppliers.
We developed the proposed approach based on widespread feedback we’ve received through extensive consultation starting in 2012.
Your feedback will help ensure that the new approach will be effective, practical and successful.
The consultation document includes specific questions for your feedback. However, we welcome and will consider all feedback we receive on any aspect of the proposal.
