Electronic Tender (etender)
The eTender system provides for pharmaceutical suppliers to submit all tender bids electronically and securely via the internet. We consider the eTender system has the following advantages:
- The Invitation to Tender will be released via email with access to the eTender system at the same time.
- Tender responses will be completely online and could be submitted right up to the Deadline from any location via the Internet.
- Conformity issues should be minimised due to electronic checks prior to submission by suppliers.
- The Tender will continue to be a closed Tender with all Tender Bids being held in a secure system by the service provider.
- The service provider will provide 128 bit http(s) encryption for all Internet sessions and in addition will require you to authenticate yourself using a password.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why won't my password allow me to submit a bid?
The correct "approver" password is required to complete submission. This password is sent out on initial registration to one designated person confirmed to PHARMAC for security reasons.
How will I know if my submission has been received?
The authorised user will receive an e-mail confirmation following submission.
The unit type for my product is not available in the drop down list, what should I do?
Select the "Other" option in the drop down box and type in the unit type.
What does invalid data mean?
This means that one or more mandatory fields have not been completed.
Is there a faster way to access a chemical name without using the arrow buttons?
You can type the chemical name (or part of it) into the "Chemical name" field and search for the required chemical.
I want to place a community and hospital bid for a chemical but it doesn?t allow me to do so?
A combined bid can only be completed when an individual community and individual hospital bid are completed.
Am I able to change my bid once I have submitted it?
Once you have submitted your bid(s) you will not be able to make changes, however you will still be able to make additional bids on other chemicals before the Tender closing date.
Can PHARMAC access my Tender bid prior to the closing date?
PHARMAC will not be able to view the tender bids before the closing date. The tender process will remain a closed tender as per the current process. The data will not be stored by PHARMAC.
