Hospital Pharmaceutical Assessment Database
Hospital Pharmaceutical Assessment Database (HPAD)
Thank you for accessing the Hospital Pharmaceutical Assessment Database (HPAD).
This database has been developed for those who work at District Health Board (DHB) Hospitals to provide you with access to cost-utility analyses and information on what pharmaceuticals are being assessed by DHBs and PHARMAC. PHARMAC welcomes any comments you have on these assessments.
The aim of the Hospital Pharmaceutical Assessment Process (HPAP) is to:
- facilitate the introduction of economic analysis into hospital assessments for pharmaceuticals;
- reduce duplication of work;
- promote dialogue between DHBs;
- facilitate review;
- improve the consistency and quality of assessments;
- improve consistency of access to pharmaceuticals.
Please note that where there is national assessment by PHARMAC, this does not provide any obligation by DHBs to fund (or not fund) a pharmaceutical. DHBs can commence funding prior to review, and continue to do so irrespective of PHARMACs recommendations.
