Proposal for the funding of an additional brand of adrenaline (1:10,000) injection

Proposal summary PHARMAC and Aspen Pharmacare Australia Pty Limited have entered into a provisional agreement for Aspen’s adrenaline injection 1 in 10,000, 10 ml (Aspen Adrenaline). This would result in Aspen Adrenaline injection 1 in 10,000, 10 ml, from 1 December 2011, being :    fully subsidised on the Pharmaceutical Schedule; fully subsidised on a Practitioner’s Supply Order (PSO); and available to DHB hospitals.

Details of the Proposal Aspen Adrenaline would be listed in Section B and Part II of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule with effect from 1 December 2011, with up to 5 injections subsidised on a PSO, as follows: Pharmaceutical Name (Brand) Adrenaline (Aspen Adrenaline) Strength and Form Inj 1 in 10,000, 10 ml (ampoule) Proposed price and subsidy $49.00
