TENDER RESULTS

The PHARMAC Board (or Chief Executive under Delegated Authority) has resolved to award tenders for Sole Subsidised Supply Status and Hospital Supply Status for some products included in the 2010/11 Invitation to Tender, dated 2 November 2010. As discussed in our 2010 tender consultation document, we are notifying tender decisions as they are made in 2011. This change is to provide maximum notification of upcoming changes to the market, specifically to incumbent suppliers. Some of the pharmaceuticals that will be delisted when the period of Sole Subsidised Supply commences may be subject to existing listing contracts with PHARMAC. Suppliers of pharmaceuticals that are subject to such contracts should continue to supply their pharmaceuticals under those contracts. PHARMAC will continue to subsidise those pharmaceuticals accordingly until such time as those pharmaceuticals are delisted.

Notification of Product Changes (NOPC) forms and Pharmacodes

Please note that for any changes (price change, pack size change, new listing etc) to be effective in the Pharmaceutical Schedule (including Section H), suppliers are required to notify any changes to PHARMAC and the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand by 4pm on the 12th of the month prior to the date of subsidy change. More information and NOPC forms can be found on our website – www.pharmac.govt.nz/schedule.asp. Where a product does not have a current pharmacode, suppliers are required to ensure a pharmacode has been received from the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand before the 12th of the month prior to the date of listing. PHARMAC cannot list a product (and pharmacies cannot claim) without the correct pharmacode.

Correction of SSS date for ibuprofen 200 mg

The Sole Supply Status expiry date for Ethics Ibuprofen 200 mg tablets had been incorrectly listed in previous Pharmaceutical Schedule Updates as 2012; the correct expiry date for Ethics Ibuprofen 200 mg tablet was 30 June 2011. We apologise for any confusion resulting from the inclusion of the incorrect Sole Supply expiry date in previous Pharmaceutical Schedule Updates. As notified in the June Tender Notification, Arrow-Ibuprofen will have Sole Supply Status from 1 May 2012 – 30 June 2014.

2010/11 Tender – Sole Subsidised Supply Status or Hospital Supply Status applies until 30 June 2014 Community pharmaceutical tenders – Section B of the Pharmaceutical Schedule
