Proposal to amend the listing of mometasone furoate lotion
PHARMAC is seeking feedback on a proposal to amend the listing of mometasone furoate (Elocon) Lotion in the Pharmaceutical Schedule through a provisional agreement with Merck Sharp and Dohme (New Zealand) Limited. In summary, this proposal would result in: the price and subsidy for Elocon lotion increasing from 1 August 2011; Elocon lotion being protected from subsidy reduction and delisting until 1 June 2014 Merck Sharp and Dohme being able to change its currently listed pack size from 30 ml to 50 ml

Details of the proposal The price and subsidy relating to Elocon lotion would be amended from 1 August 2011 as follows:
Chemical Presentation Lotion Brand Elocon Pack size 30 ml OP Current Price and subsidy $4.80 Proposed Price and subsidy $7.35
Mometasone furoate
Elocon lotion would have subsidy and delisting protection until 1 June 2014 Merck Sharp and Dohme would be able to change the pack size of Elocon lotion from 30 ml to 50 ml. The 50 ml pack size would be subject to a price and subsidy of $10.05
