Proposal relating to calcium folinate, methotrexate, paclitaxel, epirubicin, carboplatin, oxaliplatin and fludarabine

Following a request to pharmaceutical suppliers for commercial proposals as an alternative to tendering certain pharmaceuticals for sole supply, PHARMAC and InterPharma Pty Limited have entered into a provisional agreement relating to the supply of the Ebewe brands of calcium folinate, methotrexate, paclitaxel, epirubicin, carboplatin, oxaliplatin and fludarabine. We are now seeking feedback on this proposal. In summary, the proposal would result in:

awarding Hospital Supply Status from 1 December 2010 to 30 June 2014 to the Ebewe brands of calcium folinate injection, methotrexate injection and paclitaxel injection; listing Fludarabine Ebewe (fludarabine phosphate injection 50 mg) from 1 July 2011; awarding Hospital Supply Status to Fludarabine Ebewe from 1 September 2011 to 30 June 2014; and a reduction in the price and subsidy of the currently listed Ebewe brands of epirubicin, carboplatin and oxaliplatin injections.

The above presentation of Fludarabine Ebewe would have Hospital Supply Status from 1 September 2011 until 30 June 2014. The currently listed Fludara brand of fludarabine phosphate inj 50 mg would be delisted from Part II of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 September 2011. The price and subsidy of fludarabine inj 50 mg for ECP (Baxter) would be reduced from $286.00 to $105.00 per 50 mg OP in Section B of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 September 2011.
