Proposal to fund lignocaine urethral syringes
PHARMAC is seeking feedback on a proposal to list lignocaine gel 2% (10 ml urethral syringe) in Section B and in Part II of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 May 2010 at a price and subsidy of $43.26 per pack of 10, through an agreement with Pfizer New Zealand Limited. Lignocaine is a local anaesthetic. The proposed listing would be in addition to the currently funded alternative product lignocaine gel 2% with chlorhexidine 0.05% (10 ml urethral syringe) and would be the same price and subsidy as the currently funded product.
