Consultation on proposal to amend claiming for Cost Brand Source prescriptions

PHARMAC is seeking feedback on a proposal to amend the way Cost Brand Source (CBS) prescriptions are annotated when claimed. Pharmacists would no longer be required to annotate the paper copy of the prescriptions with the cost, brand and source of supply of the medicine, but instead attach a copy of the purchase invoice to the prescription. The electronic claiming process would remain unchanged. PHARMAC welcomes feedback on this proposal. To provide feedback, please submit it in writing by 5 pm on Friday 22 January 2010. Full details of this consultation can be found on the PHARMAC website at http://www.pharmac.govt.nz/consultation and copies were provided to pharmacy organisations early last week for their comment on behalf of their members. We also welcome feedback from individual pharmacies.

Testosterone undecanoate capsules - delayed

Due to unforeseen air freight delays, the Arrow Pharmaceuticals brand of testosterone undecanoate cap 40 mg (Arrow-Testosterone) listing has been delayed from 1 February to 1 March 2010. Subsequent reference pricing and delisting of currently listed brands has also been delayed. A331666 Page 2 of 2
