Proposed chemical additions to the 2009/10 Multi-product Tender

PHARMAC has amended the list of chemicals it proposes to include in the Invitation to Tender 2009/10 by adding the chemicals set out below. The proposal to include these additional chemicals in the 2009/10 Invitation to Tender would be as set out in the 21 August 2009 consultation on the proposed 2009/10 Multi-product Tender list, and PHARMAC would also consider any Alternative Commercial Proposals (ACPs) in accordance with the consultation issued on 21 August 2009. The proposed additional line items and the respective markets to be tendered in the 2009/10 Invitation to Tender are:

Please note the Tender Agreement for imatinib mesylate and lopinavir with ritonavir may be subject to a Special Authority restriction. Background PHARMAC’s consultation on the 2009/10 Multi-product Tender issued 21 August 2009 currently seeks feedback from various parties on: · A proposal to tender certain pharmaceuticals for sole supply; · The draft process and terms and conditions for the Invitation to Tender 2009/10; and · Commercial Proposals as an alternative to tendering (for pharmaceutical suppliers and interested parties). The 2009/10 Invitation to Tender is still in the drafting stage; and it will be finalised later in the year. The proposed addition of imatinib, lopinavir with ritonavir and olanzapine in the 2009/10 Invitation to Tender is now reflected in the electronic version of the 21 August 2009 consultation letter currently available on our website, www.pharmac.govt.nz/suppliers/proposals/tenders.
