Consultation on a proposal to list metoprolol succinate (MetoprololAFT CR) in the Pharmaceutical Schedule

PHARMAC has entered into a provisional agreement with AFT Pharmaceuticals Ltd in relation to the listing of metoprolol succinate sustained release tablets (Metoprolol-AFT CR) in the Pharmaceutical Schedule. Metoprolol-AFT CR is currently unregistered. Details of the proposal are as follows: · Subject to gaining all necessary consents, Metoprolol-AFT CR would be listed, as soon as practicable, in Section B and in Part II of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule at the following prices and subsidies (ex-manufacturer, excluding GST):

Metoprolol-AFT CR would be protected from delisting and reference pricing until 30 June 2009.
