Senior Policy Analyst / Policy Manager (Ref 731)

PHARMAC is seeking to strengthen its policy capability with the introduction of this exciting new senior policy position. As a wide range of policy issues impact our business, it is critical that we, led by this role, actively monitor these issues and, where appropriate, share our perspective on appropriate approaches and outcomes. This role will also identify opportunities for ongoing business improvement, and monitor international policy trends and activity. This is an exciting opportunity for people with strong analytical and policy skills, significant experience in or around government policy processes, commercial nous and a strategic outlook. The position has no staff responsibilities, but is high on challenge and responsibility in an important area. We need a high performer with well-rounded capability to operate at a senior level. We also need a practical thinker: someone that understands the interface of policy with the commercial and operational reality of PHARMAC’s operations. As this is a new role, we are open to what level this position ultimately takes. The role reports to PHARMAC’s Manager Corporate & External Relations. PHARMAC is the government agency responsible for ensuring New Zealanders have access to a wide range of affordable medicines.
