Contracts Analyst – x2

Contracts Analysts monitor and enforce contracts PHARMAC has with suppliers. Key contracts include agreements with pharmaceutical companies for the supply of pharmaceuticals and related products. The roles are varied with responsibility for the management of rebates, contract events, price increases, out of stock situations, database management and analysis. Relationship management both internally and externally is very important therefore candidates must demonstrate confidence in this area in addition to effective time management, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly and accurately examine large quantities of information. Knowledge of contracts management and analysis is essential. A relevant tertiary qualification and a biological/medical background is desirable. Ref:11044

Analyst

Analysts at PHARMAC are responsible for ensuring the pharmaceutical budget is forecast and monitored accurately. There is also involvement in evaluating proposed supply contracts and you may have direct involvement in negotiations with the pharmaceutical supplier. Ensuring data quality is maintained is crucial for accurate assessment and reporting. There is a heavy workload requiring high speed financial analysis with minimal error. You will need to be strongly numeric and highly skilled using MS Excel and statistical software. Analysts must be responsive to customer needs and as such the ability to take this data and make it meaningful to others is essential. A relevant tertiary qualification preferably in commerce/ economics or quantitative analysis is required. Ref:11043

Health Technology Analyst

Health Technology Analysts are primarily responsible for designing, conducting and updating cost-utility analysis on pharmaceuticals being considered for listing on the Pharmaceutical Schedule, and also on behalf of (DHB) hospitals. This involves gathering, synthesising, critically appraising, and presenting clinical information; building of pharmacoeconomic models; analysing outcomes and cost data; and liaising with clinicians. It also involves managing the review and consultation process for assessments undertaken on behalf of DHB hospitals. Suitable candidates will either be economists with a good understanding of medical science or pharmacology, or have a medical/pharmacological background with a very good understanding of economics. You will possess strong modelling skills, be focused on what drives results, are able to work under pressure and to deadlines, and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven experience would be advantageous. Ref:11045
