Analyst

PHARMAC is a Crown entity recognised for its dynamic management of prescription medicine subsidies. Our objective is to secure for eligible people in need of pharmaceuticals, the best health outcomes that are reasonably achievable from pharmaceutical treatment and from within the amount of funding provided to us by government.

We are seeking to appoint an Analyst, based in Wellington, who has a particular interest and skill in managing and analyzing data, and using these to produce a range of management reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate would possess some or all of the following: • A tertiary qualification in business sciences; • Experience with common database managers – Access/SPSS – and superior spreadsheeting skills; • Sound quantitative analysis skills; • The ability to forecast expenditure time series; • Sound written communication skills; • Strong organisational skills; • Self motivation and the ability to work to achieve team goals. While the successful candidates primary role would be to maintain data applications and produce management reports and forecasts, analysts at PHARMAC work across a broad range of responsibilities as need determines. Additional responsibilities could include: • Cost modeling – estimating the cost of changes in subsidisation policies; and • Pharmaceutical data extraction, analysis and reporting.
