PHARMAC is a Crown Entity, recognised for its dynamic management of prescription medicine subsidies and for the promotion of the responsible use of pharmaceuticals. Our objective is to secure for eligible people in need of pharmaceuticals, the best health outcomes that are reasonably achievable from pharmaceutical treatment within the amount of funding provided to us by government. The Demand Side Manager position is a challenging and rewarding role. Reporting to the Manager of the Demand Side team, the role involves identifying and managing projects that improve the use of pharmaceuticals. It involves working on quality improvement initiatives as well as implementing major changes to the Pharmaceutical Schedule. This position will allow you to work closely with a wide variety of health professionals, their representative bodies and consumer groups. For this role you should ideally: • Have a healthcare and/or marketing qualification and have an interest in working in the health sector. • Have excellent communication, organisational and relationship management skills. • Have the ability to manage complex projects, and be able to prioritise and multitask. • Thrive on working in a dynamic environment. • Be able to work as part of a highly motivated team, as well as independently. • Be at ease working with clinicians.
