Media release PHARMAC extends consultation on dispensing proposal
People will have more time to prepare submissions to a proposal to return to threemonthly dispensing for 70% of dispensings, after PHARMAC announced an extension to the consultation period today. The 28th of April was to have been the deadline for submissions to be received by PHARMAC. However, following requests from pharmacists, PHARMAC has agreed to extend consultation until the end of May. The new deadline is 5pm, Friday 30 May 2003. PHARMAC Chief Executive Wayne McNee says a large number of submissions have already been received, and a number of substantive responses are still expected. “We had already agreed to two-week extensions to any person or organisation that requested one, but given the level of interest, an extra month will make it easier for all interested parties,” Wayne McNee says. “We appreciate the efforts that people have made to meet the 28 April deadline, and we look forward to receiving further submissions by 30 May.” Submissions can be sent to PHARMAC at PO Box 10-254, Wellington, or by email to Jessica.nisbet@pharmac.govt.nz.
